Cities may need to prepare for an aging population. We can
evaluate the need for assisted living facilities and other
services for a senior population. Other cities may need to
estimate the impact of new developments on a range of city
services and budgets. Health departments need population
estimates to measure how morbidity and mortality rates change
over time.
We use the demographic methods most suited to your project. Two
basic methods of projecting the population are the cohort
survival method and the housing unit method. For areas with
significant housing development, we generally use the housing
unit method or a combination of the two basic methods. For areas
with mostly older housing, forecasts are based on the cohort
survival method. We develop new methodology to provide clients
with exactly the information they need.
